The project will include the reworking of two Estey Pipe Organs. Covenant Community of Jesus the Good Shepherd, Owings, MD., Viscount Hybrid Pipe Organ.
When the Covenant Community of Jesus the Good Shepherd needed a new organ, they considered all the major players, including Viscount. Admittedly, the music director knew the least about Viscount, and from a ‘brand awareness’ perspective had heard a lot more about a couple other names in the mix. However, after a face to face consultation with a Viscount representative, the music director learned a lot about Viscount and their Physis® Physical Modeling Technology. This project was extra special because the church knew they wanted real wind-blown pipes, and they needed a company that could handle a more comprehensive organ installation. The church did not currently have a pipe organ. Viscount was able to provide them with a custom complement of pipes that matched perfectly with their architecture and of course, musical needs. The music director was also the organist, so a low profile console was suggested to increase visibility. In addition to real windblown American voiced and made pipes, the organ has an entire array of digital organ voices that speak as one cohesive unit with the pipes. Since ‘JGS’ also has blended worship, the new Viscount Organ was set up with some beautiful non-organ orchestral voices and registrations that meet the needs of today’s modern and diverse church.

Viscount Pipe Organ:
The local Viscount representative worked tirelessly to not only provide them with an organ but an organ really meant specifically for them. The desire during the planning stages was to make the organ look as though it had always been there. The wood in the church was very unique with a whitewashed oak. Viscount matched the finish of the pews perfectly and built a ‘French style’ console to meet the needs of the organist. Don’t be fooled though by the organ's French look. The sound is all American, along with the custom American made pipes. Personalization was taken to the nth degree when the Viscount rep noticed the Roman style archways in the church. He made sure the pipes of the new organ also had true Roman mouths to match. When considering the name of the church (Jesus the Good Shepherd), it only seemed fitting to make the pipe arrangement be formed in a ‘crown’ pattern, for the King of Kings. Washington Nationals Baseball Stadium Organ

It’s not just another day at the office for the Nat’s Organist, Matthew Van Hoose. Prior to the new Viscount Organ being installed, he had been relegated to playing on a keyboard. Viscount Choir Master

Viscount Choir MasterChoir Master is a new concept instrument intended, mainly, to accompany congregational singing by the organ. The ideal accessory for any Viscount organ, it can be used also by singers or musicians who can't play an organ; displays the song lyrics on a standard TV screen; a cursor indicates the current syllable; shows the number (or the page) of the selected hymn, by means of a digital (optional) panel.
Using the [BEAT] and [NOTES] buttons, you can conduct the organ accompaniment by tapping beats or, alternatively, each syllable on the buttons. The TAP CONDUCTOR allows a flexibility that automatic background tracks lack. Thanks to the intelligent lighting of the buttons and a graphical display, Choir Master can be used successfully at the first approach. Songs can be recalled by typing their code number or choosing from an alphabetically ordered list. Alternatively, the matrix of small keys, called "Quick Selection", allows you to recall, with a single touch, a song preassigned to that key Moreover, thanks to the exclusive Smart Hymn Search, you can select a song by playing a fragment of it on the Song Structure buttons, which, when necessary, coincide with musical keys of the octave.
Using the [DIM.] / [CRESC.] (decreasing / increasing) you can adjust the stops level (i.e. how many stops are used to play a song), while in the "Song Structure" area you can select which parts of the song you wish to perform and which to skip.
Lyrics can be shown not only on the internal display, but also on a TV or a video projector by means of video coaxial output. An optional three-digit external display shows the number (or page) of the hymn to be performed. A complete File Manager lets you manage songs and transfer files to and from the USB memory pen.
You can also record your own performances through a simple-approach midi recorder with overdub functions. Thanks to Choir Master, no Viscount organ will be silent anymore during worships.
